A LONG TIME AGO... Melanie was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. Since she can remember she loved to draw. Always picked on for being small Melanie found it difficult to make friends. Since drawing was an activity she loved and could do on her own it was a way to escape. Kids started noticing her art and loved it bullies included. And so bullies became admirers and friends. Soon Melanie's art was found on many kids' school binders. Anything to do with art in school she excelled in it. The positive reactions and her love for animals would drive her to obsessing about wanting to paint more and more. And so she drew all the time. In class (oh oh), while watching TV, and while outside.
ART WITH HEART FOR ANIMALS SAKE... Melanie always had a huge love and passion for animals and mother nature. Thanks to her mom who instilled that in her. Melanie grew up around animals such as dogs, fish, birds, ferrets, guinea pigs, turtles, tortoises, hamsters, mice and her first pet rabbit not to forget to mention. And so it is of no surprise that her favorite subjects to capture are animals. From an early age Melanie was into animal rights and when she was 9 years old she was asked if she wanted to draw pictures about animal cruelty and bring awareness. Her work was hung for all to see during parents day. That moment she felt she was making the world a better place for animals. Since then Melanie has continued her mission and donated multiple paintings for auctions to help raise funds for animal rescue organizations as well as some of her proceeds from her art sales are being contributed.
FAST FORWARD...Melanie married and moved to the United States of America at the tender age of 21. While adjusting and working three jobs to make ends meet there was little time for art. After 13 years realizing that this marriage will never work she got a divorce.
HAPPY END...Her best friend became years later her true love. And she found the time and love for drawing again. Her husband has always been her biggest supporter and pushed her beyond her own beliefs. She has dabbled into all sorts of art forms and mediums. Colored pencils, acrylics, markers, card making, and even pottery. Her passion for art and animal rights are still the very core of her existence and it is the reason what drives her to paint. Many pieces of art have a hidden message in them usually pertaining to peace, unity, and equality for all. She lives with her husband, two dogs and two rabbits in Ponchatoula, Louisiana and her mission is to make a difference and bring awareness with her art.
"Art with Heart" is what she calls it.
